Fast Facts about Delhi

When I went on Delhi one day tour package, I came to know various things. I saw many monuments like Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Akshardham, Rashtrapati Bhavan, etc. I enjoyed the street food also and the sightseeing with lot many selfies was a stunning experience. The amazing street food was butter chicken, Dahi Vada, chole kulche, lassi, jalebi and very importantly, water. Yes, there are hand carts of drinking water. These hand carts give water for Rs. 1 Rs. 2 per glass. This is so because I visited Delhi during summers and it is difficult to carry a lot of water. The Mughal monuments were so ornamental and full of grandeur that it was difficult to remove the eyes from them. Here are some interesting facts that I came to know by the residents, other tourists and the guide.

Everything in ‘Delhi Haat’

Delhi Haat has everything that one needs. If you want to eat, you can go to Delhi Haat. If you want to shop, you can go to Delhi Haat. You want to shop for household items, Delhi heart is a destination for you.

Routes in Delhi

Delhi is known for the brilliant transportation system. Most of the people have cards here because of pathetic climatic conditions. Delhi has many flyovers. This is for the sake of convenience of the huge population of Delhi along with the tourists. There is traffic in Delhi till 10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m. because there are commuters to offices. Then it is convenient for you to travel if you are a tourist. The Delhi railway station is also labeled as the major Junction Railway Station. You have no problem in reaching Delhi from any part of the country. The metros of Delhi are also so very comfortable and the Pioneer in the modern Transportation system. Its length is 13th largest in the world.

Lotus Temple

As the name suggests, the Lotus temple is a superb place made in the structure of the lotus flower. It was not easy to make at all. A lot of effort was involved in it and the result speaks its story. It is admired by national and international tourists a lot.

The UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Humayun's tomb, Qutub Minar and Red Fort are the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Delhi, the national capital territory of India. Qutub Minar is the tallest in the world made up of break and the status of the minaret is there with it. There are spiral stairs. It is made up of red sandstone and marble. There is a balcony also. It is one of its kinds in the world. Red Fort is made up of red sandstone. It is 73 metres tall with five storeys. There are 379 steps in the staircase. It was started by Qutub-ud-din Aibak and finished by his son Iltutmish.

Humayun's tomb was made by his wife Bega Begum. It was designed by Mirza Ghiyas. It is about the design of the Taj Mahal. The design Humayun's Tomb is the inspiration behind the design of the Taj Mahal. Isn't that amazing! There around hundred tombs inside the monument called as Humayun's Tomb. This is the first garden tomb in India, rather in the Indian subcontinent. It is very big. It is located on Mathura Road, Nizamuddin East Delhi.

Red Fort was the palace of the rulers of Mughal dynasty. It is located in Old Delhi. It is located in the centre of Delhi. The Mughal rulers lived for around 200 years over here. If rulers lived over here, one can imagine the height of magnificence that could be there in the Red Fort and it has all the rights to be on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites along with Humayun's tomb and Qutub Minar.

Taj Literature Festival can be rightly termed as an awakening. It came out to be a perfect and unique combination of regional National and international collection of cultures. The festival takes the discussion on the hot topics like money, crime, gender, etc and motivates the writers to write on such topics and bring a positive revolution. It not only holds the discussion but delivers certain promises to carry out writings on such topics. More of such sensitive topics is honor killing.

The Biggest Achievement

The biggest achievement of the Tata Literature Festival was writing of a book by the students. Some of the students in 2013 wrote a book. This is really remarkable. As students are not even interested in reading anything and if because of the Taj Literature Festival they are inspired to write a book, it is really an achievement. Such an inspiration given by the Taj Literature Festival is commendable.

The Stage Performances

5 Literature Festival not only has the collection and stalls of books but there is a stage on which you will find a beautiful composition of drama and music. This is how we define the celebration of a festival. The celebrities come to the stage and give speeches to present their ideas on the upcoming issues in society.

All this was simply not expected when we decided to visit the Taj Literature Festival on same day Agra tour by train. It helped us to have a good collection of books, witness the presence of some celebrities and also helped we inspire our children.

Sightseeing in Delhi

I was on my business trip in Delhi for 3 days. I had to be there for one more day for the sake of my client. Surprisingly my meeting got over early in the morning as the client had to take flight at 9 a.m. sharp. So, I got free by 9.30 a.m. Thus, I decided to go on Delhi one day tour package. I had other options of watching a movie, call a friend and spend time with his family but it was a weekday when many people are not free. So, one day tour was a nice option. I got the opportunity to see various attractions in Delhi. For example: Bangla Shaib Gurdwara, Lakshmi Narayan Birla Temple, India Gate, Parliament House, Indira Gandhi Museunm, Embassy Area, Gyarah Murti, Handicraft Market, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Raj Ghat, Shanty Van, Shakti Sthal And Red Fort. All the places were amazing and we got to know many things about our history and our heritage. I am keen to share my experience about certain special ones.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib

It is a Sikh Gurudwara, one of the major ones. There were 10 gurus of Sikhs. This Gurudwara is dedicated to Guru Har Krishan Ji. The serene atomosphere of Gurudwara appealed me lot. It was very peaceful. I was feeling a change from my everyday routine. It was a rejuvenating effect that I did not feel even after a luxury spa. It was divine. There was a ‘Sarovar’ means water body inside. It was permitted to have fun over there; still I liked it. I had the ambrosia means ‘prasad’ of Gurudwara after a long time. Its taste is very unique not in the ‘Porridge’ made at home. Maybe the purpose is different, that is why. Well, I started the day extremely well.

India Gate

India Gate

The Delhi one day tour package sightseeing took me to India Gate then. It is built in the memory of 70,000 soldiers who were martyrs during the First World War, in France. These soldiers were Indians. So, after the feeling of divinity, what followed was the feeling of patriotism. We got to know some stories of bravery of our soldiers and it was all making us very dedicated to the country and high respect for their spirit. India Gtae is recgnised as one of the most prominent war memorials in India.

Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar

The next was the Qutub Minar. I was lucky to see the World Heritage Site on number third. Its hieight is 73 meters or 239.5 ft. It has five storeys and it is very tall. The height of each story is 14.3 meters or 9 feet. The remaining 2.7 meters is at the top of the Minar. The staircase is spiral and it has 379 steps. The guide said that it is somewhere similar to Minaret of Jam, which is in Afghanistan.

There were many other superb places which gave different experiences totally different from my routine for so long. It was a fruitful change in my kind of person’s life who only keeps working for the sake of money. I now realized I must be on such tours, it will remind me various things as a citizen of the country as well as a human being.
