Luxury Trip to Rajasthan

The railways undoubtedly bring back the romance of travel; there is simply no better way to see Rajasthan than by rail. Each destination is easily connected to the other; there are overnight stays as well as day trains.


The most famous is the Palace on Wheels luxury train. This royal train requires regular maintenance to maintain the same opulence and splendor as the palaces of the ancient Maharajas. (Therefore, it does not work in May, June, July, and August).



The Palace on Wheels

Palace on Wheels takes you on a wonderful and charming royal journey through the era of the Maharajas. On board, you will experience the enchantment of royal Rajasthan and the incredible Agra. Each room has special assistants called Khidmatgars, who are there to give a hand if you need something. There are two restaurants at Palace on Wheels. A lounge bar - car and four service cars. Fresh food is cooked in a kitchen on board. The train also has a small library, a mini - gym, and a beauty salon. The palace on wheels is fully air - conditioned and has delicious luxuries hidden in every nook and cranny.


Travel Itinerary

The trip begins on Wednesday evening when dinner is served on board. The arrival in Jaipur is Thursday where a royal welcome by elephants awaits you. After seeing Hawa Mahal, the Amber Fort Lunch is served at the Rambagh Palace Hotel. Visit Jantar Mantar, the old observatory and the palace of the city, and then return to the train for dinner.



The arrival to the 12th - century city of Jaisalmer is Friday. The city is dominated by a large fort of the same name. Explore to your hearts fill and experience the famous camel safaris and desert camps. Dine under the stars to the beat of the Rajasthani music.

Arriving at Jodhpur on Saturday, you can visit the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada, the royal monument. Lunch is at Umaid Bhawan Palace.


On Sunday, you arrive at Sawai Madhopur which is home to Ranthambore National Park, a tiger reserve project. Departure for Chittorgarh and lunch on board. The fort of Chittorgarh is imbued with moving legends of honor and pride.

On Mondays, you arrive in Udaipur also known as the city of lakes. Lunch is at the Lake Palace Hotel; enjoy the serenity of Lake Pichola. Visit the palace of the city the home of the maharajas of Udaipur in all its former grandeur.


On Tuesday you will reach Bharatpur and the famous Keoladeo Ghana National Park. It is home to 300 species of birds that come from far away from Siberia and China. In the afternoon arrive at Agra. Visit the Fatehpur Sikri Sandstone Fort and admire the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Dine at Taj Khema.

Wednesday the trip ends and the train arrive in Delhi. The trip lasts eight days and seven nights of pure royal charm.


The Queen of Fairies

The other famous train of Rajasthan is the queen of fairies.

The fairy queen train is mentioned in the "guinness book of records" as the oldest steam locomotive in the world.


The Fairy Queen offers a relaxing weekend between Delhi and Alwar. He joins the charming city of Alwar in Rajasthan the same day, from where guests are taken to Sariska Tiger Reserve for an overnight stay. Breakfast is served on board and the train returns to Delhi.
